ZAKAT AND SADAQAH_1

The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allāh, is as the likeness of a grain; it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allāh gives manifold increase to whom He wills.

And Allāh is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower.

(al-Baqarah : 261)

Zakāt is one of the pillars of Islam and we at EMO take this responsibility very seriously. Allāh has said

“And establish prayer and give Zakāt, and whatever good you put forward for yourselves – you will find it with Allāh”.

(Quran 2:110)

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ has taught us that paying Zakāt will purify, bless and increase the remainder of our wealth.

We educate our donors of the rulings regarding Zakāt according to Shafi’i maddhab, so that they may calculate their yearly Zakāt properly.

Every year in Ramadān we collect money for Yemen, to be spent throughout the year for the people in need. Some of these projects include: Food, water, medicine, milk for children, shelter or emergency relief.
